- Qualifying for the Federal Discount
The Office of the National
Coordinator (ONC) for HIT has designated certain primary care providers to
receive technical assistance at a substantial discount—up to 90%. Eligible
providers are:
- Physicians and health care
professionals with prescriptive privileges
- Physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives
- Primarily focused on primary care
- Family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics
Eligible practices must meet one of the following criteria:
- Small practices of 10 or fewer
primary care providers with prescriptive privileges
- Designated rural health clinic
(RHC), federally qualified health clinic (FQHC), or community health center
(CHC), with any number of providers
- Clinic owned by a critical access hospital (CAH) or rural hospital, with any number of providers
Practices/providers
predominantly serving uninsured, underinsured, and medically underserved
populations. Assistance to determine eligibility is available.
Critical
Access and Small Rural Hospitals - Qualifying for the Federal Discount
CAH and small rural hospitals are
eligible for discounted services. REACH already is working with over 40% of the
CAHs in Minnesota and North Dakota.
