Staffing for EHR Now and Later

Tuesday, May 10, 2011, noon - 1:00 pm CT

Understand staff roles and responsibilities for electronic health record (EHR) systems - not only for implementation but for making sure that the planning stages and ongoing EHR needs are met. Many provider organizations underestimate the staffing needed for EHR and small facilities must find creative ways to utilize existing staff and/or outside resources. Be sure to manage staffing so that expectations for staff needs are clear to all.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Review the EHR roadmap in light of level of effort required for each phase
  • Assess the types of knowledge and skills required for EHR projects and sources of staff
  • Determine the level of staff needed in light of different EHR vendor implementation configurations

Who should attend

Administrators, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs/IT staff, DoN/nursing staff, physician/providers, project managers, and others with responsibilities related to staffing.
