Effective Project Management

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Noon to 1:00 p.m. CT

Did you hear the story about the software project that was a year behind schedule and several thousand dollars over budget? It can be avoided. This presentation will introduce the audience to project management principles. The emphasis will be on what is essential for a successful project and what common behaviors will inevitably result in project failure.

Objectives

  • Discover what makes a project successful
  • Identify project management principles that apply to all projects, regardless of scale
  • Understand why project management isn't always so easy

Who should attend

Administrators, CEOs, CIOs/IT staff, DoN/nursing staff, project managers and anyone given the responsibility to lead or participate on a project.

Speaker

Pat Seidl, The Center for Healthcare Innovation - The College of St. Scholastica

Pat manages the activities for a grant-funded project involving the College of St. Scholastica, five rural Minnesota hospitals and their shared information technology center.
